Historically, NAYS has offered in-person educational opportunities to assist CYSA candidates as they complete the certification process. Comprehensive sessions including group discussions, exercises and role playing are presented by a professional faculty. Short breaks are taken periodically throughout the Onsite Academy to give participants plenty of networking opportunities.
The format and duration of the Onsite Academy varies depending upon location. For example, Special One-Day Academies are offered in conjunction with some state park and recreation conferences, as stand-alone training opportunities and each year a Special Academy is offered simultaneously with the NAYS Youth Sports Congress at the Athletic Business Show.
At the conclusion of any Onsite Academy, participants are required to complete the Online Academy to earn the CYSA designation.
NAYS also offers Bonus Webinar + Online Academy experiences to help prepare candidates for the certification process while providing an additional educational and networking experience. After the live 3-hour Bonus Webinar, participants are provided access to the Online Academy for Youth Sports Administrators to complete the certification process to earn the CYSA credential. There is no additional fee for the Bonus webinars but each session will have limited class size.
NAYS will include a Special 3-hour webinar for any Online Academy registrant to enhance and prepare CYSA candidates. After the webinar, participants will gain access to the Online Academy to complete the certification process.
NAYS will host a special Academy session for general NAYS Youth Sports Congress registrants followed by access to the Online Academy to complete the certification process. General + Certification registrants will participate in the NAYS Youth Sports Congress and AB Show educational sessions, keynotes, receptions, expo and more. Visit the NAYS Youth Sports Congress page for detailed information about the entire event that will take place in Orlando, FL November 16-19, 2022.
NAYS will again partner with the Missouri Park and Recreation Association (MPRA) to host an in-person Academy session as part of the MPRA Annual Conference in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Registration will be conducted by MPRA. The onsite portion is designed to enhance the educational experience and afterwards, participants will gain access to the Online Academy to complete the certification process.
