Welcome to the free NAYS Bullying Prevention Training program. This program is designed to provide you with valuable information on bullying and add to what coaches, parents and administrators should know regarding bullying prevention. Bullying awareness and prevention is an important issue in youth sports today as it affects the health and well-being of children participating in all sports, and at all levels.
Depending on your role in youth sports, this training is broken down into several sections including:
Some of the sections feature video clips with Dr. Priscilla Boerger, an associate professor at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., who speaks frequently to groups regarding bullying and techniques that can be used to deal with the problem, as well as help prevent it from occurring. In addition, Roy Williams, the head basketball coach at the University of North Carolina, gives his thoughts on stopping bullying as soon as it starts.
Throughout the training you’ll find multiple choice questions to test how well you understand the material. Once you correctly answer all of the questions you can print out a certificate recognizing that you have completed the bullying prevention training. After completing this training if you are interested in further information regarding bullying, visit the additional resources link to find handy printouts, related articles and access to supplementary bullying prevention websites such as stopbullying.gov and eyesonbullying.org.
