We’re now accepting nominations for our prestigious NAYS Volunteer Coach of the Year and NAYS Youth Sports Parent of the Year awards, so here’s your chance to recognize those special individuals in your communities who are doing outstanding work.
The award winners and a guest will receive complimentary travel and accommodations to our 21st annual Youth Sports Congress that takes place Nov. 16-19 in Orlando, Fla., where they will be honored during a special awards ceremony.
We encourage you to check out Your Local Coach and Parent Award Program guide that we put together that is a terrific resource for helping to identify exemplary coaches and parents.
Don't delay! Nominations must be received by Sept. 1.
Judging for the Volunteer Coach of the Year award is based on how the nominee upholds the NAYS Code of Ethics for Coaches, which includes leading by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship, not engaging in any form of cheating or unethical behavior, and doing his or her best to provide a safe playing situation for all players, among other key areas.
Parent of the Year nominations are reviewed for how well the nominee exemplifies the NAYS Code of Ethics for Parents, founded on tenets like placing the emotional and physical well-being of children ahead of a personal desire to win, encouraging a playing environment of good sportsmanship and supporting the coaches and officials of the program, among other important areas.Coach of Year Parent of Year Nomination Awards Congress
