Two recreation departments benefit from NAYS Referral Rewards

The National Alliance for Youth Sports exists to help enhance community youth sports programs. Our staff loves to hear when youth sports organizations are happy with our programs and services.

But what do we love even more? When you tell other youth sports leaders you know! That's why we started the NAYS Referral Rewards program. To not only say thank you for spreading the word about our trainings, but to give you something valuable in return - free training credit.

How does it work?

  • First, tell other youth sports organizations about NAYS. We have links, videos and flyers to help.
  • They sign up to be a NAYS Member Organization and indicate a referral name.
  • NAYS offers the new organization a 20% discount on their first order - thanks to you!
  • Then, NAYS keeps track of any new sign ups from the new organization. The referring organization receives 15% of the revenue back in NAYS membership credit.

A handful of NAYS Member Organizations have already taken advantage of the Referral Rewards program with very little effort. Recently, Kellee Timbrook, Recreation Supervisor for Abilene Recreation Department in Abilene, Kansas, was discussing youth sports programming with Nathan Tolle, a recreation professional from a neighboring department.

“Nathan is the new Director for Chapman Parks and Recreation Department and his department is small," said Timbrook. "He visited for advice and I explained that we use the National Alliance for Youth Sports' training for coaches. I shared that the online option for the NAYS course is easy for our coaches.”

A specific benefit they discussed was how to keep track of coaches in the online NAYS Member Organization account.

Sometime after their conversation, the City of Chapman Parks and Recreation Department  formed a NAYS Member Organization. When filling out the interest form, they simply indicated that they heard about NAYS from Kellee at Abilene.

So far Abilene Recreation Department has earned more than $80 in Referral Rewards. Kellee plans to use the free credit added to her NAYS Account Balance to pay for coach memberships in the upcoming season. That's four free coach memberships - it's a start!

Kellee says, "I am not only excited to hear about Chapman Parks and Rec becoming a NAYS Member Organization, but also the rewards credit we are receiving!"

Tolle is glad he learned about NAYS as well. “Our coaches have been coaching softball and baseball for years, however most of them said that they still learned safe coaching techniques using NAYS,” he says. “I believe it was easier to find coaches this year than in previous years because the insurance policy NAYS provides our coaches.”
